Behavioral Health Full Time , Day , Mon-Fri, as determined by supervisor and need. About Us: Our Behavioral Health Department provides residential, intensive outpatient, and outpatient treatment services for individuals struggling with substance-use disorders and co-occurring disorders. We also provide mental health counseling services for adults and teenagers who are referred to us from within our provider network. Counselors provide direct clinical care to clients of the Behavioral Health Department both at Serenity House Treatment Center and at the Intake office location. This position must have a detailed understanding of the 12-steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and be able to work with a wide range of clients experiencing chemical dependency issues. Counselors provide individual, group and family therapy, completing all required documentation. Requirements: High School Diploma/GED A minimum of one (1) year of Behavioral Health experience Chemical Dependency Counselor I Certification through the Alaska Commission for Behavioral Health BLSP (CPR) from the American Heart Association within 90 days of employment. Understanding of chemical dependency and mental health problems combined with a willingness to effectively intervene with families in crisis.
