Job Summary
Prepares high quality, appetizing food for patients, staff and others as directed. Follows safe food handling practices and maintains a sanitary work area. Provides service to patients and to staff and guests in the cafeteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares high quality, appetizing food for patients, staff, and others as directed.
- Applies safe and sanitary food handling practices by following HACCP guidelines.
- Follows written menus and standardized recipes, consulting Dietician as necessary.
- Serves proper foods for all patients on regular or modified diets considering needs of all population groups.
- Schedules food preparation so food is at peak quality at serving time.
- Completes additional assignments as deemed necessary by supervisor.
- Keeps work area clean and sanitary; leaves work area clean at the end of the shift.
- Obeys safety rules and regulations.
- Controls food waste by careful estimation of amounts to prepare.
- Completes tasks in a calm and organized manner.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent preferred
No experience required; one year preferred
Rotating shifts: evenings, weekends, holidays
