High end rate $675 Gastroenterology
Sedation model: Most cases are performed under procedural sedation. For more complex or higher-risk patients, anesthesia is available.
Procedure mix and average daily case volume: Our immediate need is for upper, lower, or combined endoscopies, with or without biopsy. There may also be some expectation for post-procedure management of chronic GI conditions. That said, given our relationship with TeleMed2U, there may be an opportunity for some of that ongoing management to be handled remotely, with the GI provider primarily performing repeat procedures as needed.
EMR system: IMS at our Greenhaven location.
Operational pacing: Typically a single-room schedule rather than double-headers.
Setting: Outpatient, ASC-based.
ERCP requirement: Only if the provider is interested. This would require additional privileges at a hospital-based surgery center and possibly inpatient setting.
Clinic expectations: There will definitely be a clinic component, although ideally it would remain limited with APP support. Depending on TeleMed2U capacity, some post-procedure follow-up or broader GI management may also be involved.
Typical number of procedures per day: This depends on the provider's comfort level, but we currently have one provider who is able to complete approximately 16–18 scopes in a day.
