Network Automation EngineerLocation: Cary, NC Type: Contract (Fully remote on eastern time schedule) Compensation: $75.00 per hour (USD 130,000 - USD 160,000 - yearly)ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain Python applications that connect to network devices and collect configuration and operational data, make changes, or a combination of both.Host web applications on Linux servers and be responsible for maintaining service uptime.Contribute to internal documentation and knowledge sharing around automation tooling and best practices.Support projects as a mid-to-senior team member with direction from a project lead and comply with quality standards.Lead specific areas of a project related to expertise and support engineering efforts across multiple projects aligned with client needs.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to quality and compliance standards.Create technical written documentation independently and deliver briefings to client stakeholders in areas related to expertise.Escalate project impacting issues to the Delivery Directors or other leadership.Position RequirementsUS Citizenship or Greencard holder status required by contract8 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in a client-facing or project-driven environment.Deep experience in 1 technical area, developing breadth across 1+ additional areasAware of specific client business requirements and how technical solutions being implemented support those requirements.Some experience and understanding specific to 1+ industries where the employee has workedAble to create technical written documents (e.g., RFP response content, detail design and deployment deliverables) against specific topics/assignments independently and with few grammatical mistakes.Able to support, with guidance, the creation and delivery of select presentation content on specific technologies with which they have experience. Can deliver briefings to technical-to-mid level client stakeholders in a roundtable setting.Recognizes and acts independently on the different billing objectives by project type (T&M, FFP, Managed Services)Consistently maintains one's own forecast on respective efforts. Mentors more junior members in doing the same.Experience with Network Automation scripting and tooling. Examples: Ansible, Terraform, NetBox, and others.Comfort working with REST APIs, data serialization formats (JSON, YAML), SQL Databases, and version control (Git).Proficiency in Python with practical experience building tools.Comfort working on the Linux command line.Experience with Flask frameworkEducationOne CCNP level certification or dual CCNA level certifications desired. Alternates could include but are not limited to VCAP, JNCIS, CCSE, or PCNSE (as examples).Two+ certifications at the next level below these with hands-on experience behind each desired.Bachelor's degree or equivalentNice to HaveExperience with PyATS for writing network testcasesExperience with using Gluware for network configuration auditingExperience developing with Netmiko in order to automate network devices.
