Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join its shared services accounting team in Tullahoma, TN. This opening was created after an internal employee transitioned into a procurement role, creating an immediate need on the AP team. The ideal candidate will have prior Accounts Payable experience, strong attention to detail, and familiarity with accounting systems. This individual will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, handling adjustment vouchers, reconciling vendor accounts, and communicating with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies. The role offers long-term potential, with the intent to convert the consultant to a full-time employee.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently

Review invoices for proper coding, PO match, and completeness

Complete adjustment vouchers and invoice corrections as needed

Perform account reconciliations for larger vendor accounts

Investigate discrepancies and identify accounting issues

Communicate directly with vendors and suppliers regarding invoice questions

Utilize Excel for data review, reconciliation, and reporting

Work closely with project accountants and shared services personnel

Skills and Requirements

2+ years of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or similar accounting support experience

Experience processing invoices and handling high-volume data entry

Familiarity with accounting software

Basic to intermediate Excel skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Effective communication skills and professionalism when working with vendors

High School Diploma Oracle PeopleSoft experience (top preference)

Experience with Oracle financial systems

Prior experience supporting a shared services accounting environment
