AR/AP Clerk

$24.00–$25.00/hr. (DOE) | In-Office

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Clerk to support the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. This role is responsible for handling a variety of AR and AP functions, including payment posting, reconciliations, deposits, and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple divisions.

The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, team-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This position works closely with the Accounting Manager and collaborates with employees across all departments.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform daily cash drawer counts and reconciliations for all divisions.

• Prepare and process deposits from cash drawers, divisions, and miscellaneous sources.

• Make bank deposit runs as needed.

• Retrieve checks received through mail and email and process deposits through online banking.

• Accurately post customer payments to accounts in a timely manner.

• Assist credit representatives with customer account requests and inquiries.

• Conduct bi-weekly physical cash box counts for the SLC location and verify emailed counts from other divisions.

• Maintain organized historical records through a shared PDF filing system/database.

• Assist with miscellaneous Accounts Payable duties, including accurate GL coding.

• Maintain confidentiality of all accounting and financial information.

• Support the accounting department with additional projects and related duties as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

• Solid math, data entry, and organizational skills.

• Comfortable working with repetitive and routine accounting tasks.

• Basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

• Proficient with computers and general office software.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and problem-solve independently.

• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma required; some college coursework preferred.

• 1–2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or a related accounting role preferred.

• Must Pass an Excel and Data Entry Test
