Position Title Genetic Counseling Coordinator - Maternal Fetal Medicine Job Description Purpose & Scope: In addition to providing patient care, the Genetic Counselor will be responsible for performing multiple clinical and coordination tasks with a high degree of competency. This position requires knowledge of both department and hospital policies and procedures relevant to the delivery of clinical care. Education: Master's degree in genetics or genetic counseling is required. Experience: Two years of experience in genetic counseling is required. Certification/Licensure: Board Certified Genetic Counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia Preferred or Board Eligible Genetic Counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia is preferred. Awards/Recognition: Received a 'High Performing' designation in U.S. News & World Report's 2024 list of maternity hospitals across the United States. This survey was based on factors most important to parents when choosing the hospital to deliver their baby. Received a top ranking in the U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals list for 2023-2024. The report ranked hospitals in 15 adult specialties as well as national and regional rankings.
