About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to join its Executive Management Team. The CRO will play a pivotal role in the establishment and maintenance of the company's risk appetite, leading the enterprise risk management program, and overseeing key risk functions such as compliance management, AML/CFT, OFAC, information security, and internal audit. This executive will be responsible for ensuring that the company's risk management practices are in line with its strategic goals and will be a key partner to the Board of Directors in communicating and monitoring risk tolerance levels. The role also involves providing leadership and oversight to various risk and compliance teams, as well as serving as a liaison with regulators, auditors, and examiners. Applicants for the CRO position at the company should have a comprehensive knowledge of community banking operations, with a strong focus on compliance, risk management, security, and banking regulation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, team development, and excellent communication skills. A Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 6 years' experience in risk management, particularly in credit and vendor risk management, within a financial institution. Expertise in federal and state banking regulations is essential, as is the ability to ensure the company's risk management practices align with regulatory expectations and sound banking principles.
