About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years; first timers accepted License: State RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Must-Have: - Care of Ventilated Patient - Central line care/management - General Emergency Department experience (combined adult/pediatrics) - Management of dysrhythmias - Non-Trauma Emergency Department experience - Triage experience Description: The emergency department is a fully functioning facility. It treats a wide range of diagnoses, including lacerations needing repair, abdominal pain, pediatric complaints, mental health evaluations, stroke alerts, and cardiac arrest. The nurse will work with a patient population from pediatrics to geriatrics. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2-3. Daily census averages around 36 patients with 11 beds available. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services. Floating within the facility and possibly to a sister campus is required as needed. There are no call requirements for this position. The nurse is expected to work if a major holiday falls during the assignment period. The expected workload includes coverage every other weekend unless specified otherwise. Compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time. All requested time off must be finalized at the time of submission and cannot be requested post-offer or during orientation. All other relevant skills and certifications will be necessary for the role.
