Kremmling, CO 80459 Job Title: High School Language Arts Teacher Reports to: High School Assistant Principal Salary: $44,204 - $58,226 Work year: 166 days Job Summary West Grand School District 1-Jt is looking for a passionate High School Language Arts Teacher to help students in grades 9-12 develop and flourish throughout the school year. Creating a classroom environment that develops in each student skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing that are fundamental to effective communication and literate citizenship. Qualifications Must possess a Colorado Teacher License or be able to obtain one. Preferred secondary school teaching experience. Excellent oral and verbal communication skills. Proven problem‑solving skills. Essential Functions Create a classroom environment conducive to learning. Ability to communicate in ways students will understand. Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior. Strong communications, public relations and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates success in assisting English Language Learners to develop English oral proficiency and proficiency in reading and writing. Demonstrates success in working collaboratively with other professional staff on instructional improvements issues. Teaches content and skills in English language, literature, composition, reading, journalism to high school students. Adapts English material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments and lesson plans that guide and challenge students. Knowledge of MTSS Other responsibilities as assigned.
