Charge Nurse - Med Surg, Neuro, Nights

Overview Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff. Qualifications Education Graduate of a nursing program Required Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree Preferred Work Experience 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting Required Two (2) or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting Preferred Licenses and Certifications Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License Required BLS certification Required Additional Licenses and Certifications Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum) Required ACLS Certification (Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery) Required PALS Certification (Emergency Department) Required Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology) Required NRP by the end of orientation period (Women's Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery) Required AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery) Required PEARS Certification ( at Piedmont Athens Hospital) Required PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) Required ACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department) Required ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) Required Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 30 days to obtain the PALS certification Business Unit : Company Name: Piedmont Atlanta Hospital #J-18808-Ljbffr
