Role Description As a full-time Mental Health Therapist at Brave Counseling, you will provide individual, family, and group therapy to clients experiencing a range of mental health and relational concerns. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with ethical and regulatory standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting therapy sessions, collaborating with other providers as needed, coordinating referrals and community resources, and monitoring client progress over time. This is a hybrid role based in Des Moines, IA, with a combination of in-office sessions and some work-from-home flexibility for telehealth services. You will also participate in regular supervision or consultation, engage in continuing education, and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and trauma-informed practice culture.

Qualifications

• Clinical skills and knowledge in Mental Health and Family Therapy, with the ability to provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.
• Experience with Treatment Planning, including setting measurable goals, selecting appropriate interventions, and regularly reviewing progress.
• Background in Social Work and Case Management, with the capacity to connect clients to community resources and coordinate care across providers.
• Relevant professional licensure or eligibility (e.g., LMHC, LISW, LMFT, or equivalent) in the state of Iowa.
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills, with comfort using electronic health record systems and telehealth platforms.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and respect for diverse identities and lived experiences.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setting, managing a full-time caseload while maintaining professional boundaries and self-care.
