Position Summary: The Server provides friendly and efficient service by executing Ladder 13's Steps of Service in the main dining room, lobby area, and outdoor terrace in The Lantern Columbia.  We call the lobby "Columbia's Living Room" and the The Server is a key part of that image by making guests and patrons feel comfortable by delivering relational service, exhibiting extensive knowledge of our beverage and food menus, while ensuring the timing of their visit flows seamlessly.

Essential Job Functions 

• Execute Ladder 13's Steps of Service for the lobby and outdoor terrace areas.  
• Understand the patron/guest's needs and suggestively sell from a base of mastering the beverage and food menu (we train for this).  
• Listens and responds to guest’s needs.
• Master knowledge of our products (spirits, wine, beer, food) to support a guest's selections while also addressing any allergy concerns.  
• Timely and accurately input the guest's orders into Toast (our POS).  
• Picks up and delivers orders to appropriate guests within prescribed time limits, ensuring accuracy of the order
• Read the guest(s), approach when appropriate, offer additional rounds (in accordance with Training).  
• Assist bartenders or other servers as needed.
• Perform side duties ensuring opening and closing and service flow is supported with all needed materials in the right place, at the right time.  
• Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner.  
• Complies with all health and safety regulations.

Experience and Education:  

Experience serving, food or beverage, is preferred but not required.  

Proficient in POS Systems, Aloha, Micros, Toast, etc is preferred but not required.  

Certifications as required by Federal, State, or Local agencies: ServSafe, TIPS Certification (if you don't have this, we'll assist with you becoming certified).  

Minimum High school diploma, GED or equivalent
