Position Overview
Our organization is seeking skilled Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to become part of our multidisciplinary team within the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit. This role is essential in providing exceptional care to patients of all ages facing critical health challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Delivering care to infants, children, and adults experiencing severe illnesses.
- Working closely with supervising physicians to perform patient evaluations, gather medical histories, conduct physical examinations, and identify health and developmental issues.
- Managing treatment plans for patients with both acute and chronic conditions, adhering to established guidelines.
- Engaging in medical rounds within the intensive care unit, presenting clinical data and updates on patient progress and management.
- Assisting in the formulation of treatment strategies and participating in educational activities led by the MSICU attending staff.
- Contributing to ongoing research initiatives in the MSICU and providing expertise as a consultant and educator to fellow staff members.
- Availability for full-time work, including a 40-hour work week with day/night rotations, every third weekend, and 12-hour shifts. Permanent night positions with a rotation of every fourth weekend are also available.
- Master of Science in Nursing or a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
- Preferred: At least one year of experience in critical care.
- New graduates with relevant experience will also be considered.
- A strong foundation in medical knowledge related to critical care.
- Demonstrated critical thinking abilities and adaptability.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with medical and surgical teams, staff, and trainees.
- A valid Massachusetts NP or PA license is required.
