Job DescriptionUW Medical Center-Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Health Services Manager to lead our General Internal Medicine Center and our Pediatric Care Center.WORK SCHEDULE100% FTEDay shifts Monday-FridayDEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONThe General Internal Medicine Center (GIMC) is a dynamic teaching clinic that provides patient-centered care with the best available medical evidence. The GIMC provides comprehensive services for adult patients, including behavioral health care, chronic disease management, preventive medicine, and primary care services.Our Pediatric Care Center provides comprehensive primary and specialty care for babies, children, teenagers, and young adults to age 21. Our services include well-child checkups, developmental screenings, acute illness treatment, school and sports evaluations, environmental health consults, pediatric allergy assessments, guidance on behavioral concerns, and hearing and vision screenings.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESDirects and oversees day-to-day and strategic clinic operationsManages an estimated 36 employees (clinical and non-clinical)Works in partnership with our providers and Medical DirectorsProvides daily staffing assignmentsDevelops and assesses employee skills, monitors and manages employee performance, and completes timekeeping responsibilitiesActs as an expert resource when staff encounter problems or questionsTakes corrective action when employee performance is not acceptableReviews and manages patient access in the forms of phone service, referral management, and appointment schedulingPlans and implements programs to meet targeted patient volumesOversees quality assurance and safety standardsWorks to continually improve the quality of our servicesEnsures that the clinic operates in a cost-effective mannerREQUIREMENTS4 years of work experience in a healthcare setting2 years of supervisory or management experienceA Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or a related field; or equivalent work experienceDemonstrated leadership and program management skillsDemonstrated ability to manage the financial performance of the clinicDemonstrated knowledge ensuring compliance with billing policiesDemonstrated ability in process improvement to optimize clinic flow and operationsKnowledge of The Joint Commission, DOH and other regulatory agency standardsAn equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirementsABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-MONTLAKEUW Medical Center is an acute care academic medical center located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
