General Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary Under the supervision of the General Supervisor, the incumbent supervises a crew of mechanics, carpenters, and laborers to ensure a safe, efficient and productive work environment. Essential Functions Assign crews and equipment to specific tasks to meet daily maintenance goals and ensure that the area is safe for employees to work. Supervise crew activities during shifts to ensure safe and efficient completion of assignments. Develop crew skills to levels of maximum efficiency and safety. Work with the General Maintenance Planner to ensure that all parts, special tools and equipment necessary to complete the planned work are available and accounted for before the job begins. Coordinate with Mine Personnel and Ancillary Personnel on repairs and maintenance to be completed. Return well‑documented and completed shift paperwork in a timely manner and attend meetings as necessary. Actively communicate with the General Supervisor, periodically updating them on the status of work being performed. Ensure that all company policies are always abided by, particularly in the areas of health, safety and environmental protection. Monitor work locations with a high level of attention to detail to ensure compliance with safety standards, operational requirements, and company expectations. Coordinate with external organizations, contractors, vendors, and service providers to facilitate repairs, maintenance activities, and system improvements as required. Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, respect, discretion, and confidentiality while interacting with employees, contractors, customers, and other stakeholders. Effectively manage rapidly changing priorities across multiple sites while maintaining team focus, productivity, morale, and alignment with organizational objectives. Qualifications and Skill Requirements Create a team that places safe production first. Meet Kinross Way maintenance goals. The incumbent fosters team development. Show strong emphasis on Planned/Scheduled work practices. Supervise employees within Kinross/RMGC policies and procedures. Have strong training and communication skills. Be proficient at JDE, Microsoft Office and email systems. Have 5 years of equipment/site maintenance experience in a mining or construction environment. Have 3 years supervisory experience. Hold a valid driver’s license. Health, Safety, and Environmental Requirements Adhere to all safety and environmental considerations. Maintain a strong commitment to safe working practices. Always wear personal protective equipment while in the production environment. Be alert, observe, correct, and report unsafe conditions.
