Job Description The Operations Manager is a key leadership roleresponsible for overseeing and optimizing the landscape company's operationsacross its Maintenance and Tree/Install divisions. This individual will manageall aspects of estimating, project management, business development, and clientrelationship management to ensure operational efficiency, profitability, andclient satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with extensiveknowledge of landscape operations, a strategic approach to project management,and a passion for growing the business. KeyResponsibilities Estimating and Proposal Development Lead the estimationprocess, analyzing project requirements, materials, labor, and equipmentto develop accurate, competitive bids. Develop proposals andpresentations for prospective clients, ensuring alignment with companystandards and client expectations. Maintain and refine theestimation database and cost-tracking systems to ensure up-to-date andaccurate pricing. Project Management Coordinate projectschedules and manage resource allocation across both Maintenance andTree/Install divisions. Monitor project progress,conducting regular site visits to evaluate quality, adherence totimelines, and client satisfaction. Resolve any operationalchallenges, working collaboratively with division managers and team leadsto ensure a smooth workflow. Client Relationship Management and Business Development Develop and maintainstrong relationships withkey clients,ensuring high levels of satisfaction and promoting repeat business. Actively network withinthe community and participate in relevant business organizations toincrease visibility and build relationships. Identify and pursue newbusiness opportunities, focusing on expanding the company’s client baseand securing long-term maintenance contracts. Collaboratewith the leadership team to develop strategic initiatives and marketingplans to enhance company visibility and brand. Operational Leadership Develop and implementstandard operating procedures (SOPs) across divisions to streamlineoperations and improve efficiency. Lead, mentor, andmotivate team members to achieve high performance and professionalgrowth. Conduct regularperformance reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain aculture of continuous improvement. Ensure compliance withsafety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelinesacross all operations. Collaborate with thefinance department to develop and manage budgets, monitor costs, andanalyze financial performance for each project. Identify cost-savingopportunities and implement best practices to improve profitability. Preparereports for senior management on project progress, financial performance,and operational metricsas requested. Requirements ● Landscape Management, or a related fieldpreferred; equivalent work experience considered.- Minimum of 7 years of experienceinoperations management within the landscaping and construction/ maintenanceindustry.
- Strong background in project management,estimating, business development, and client relationship management.
- Extensive experience in managing successfuldepartments and operational financial performance.
- Experience in business development and accountacquisitions.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain clientrelationships and network effectively within business communities to developnew business.
- Excellent leadership, communication, andorganizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management software andMicrosoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Aspire or the like, (ERP, CRMetc.).
- Leadershipand Team Development: Ability to motivate and mentor teams, fostering aculture of excellence and accountability. Ensure collaboration and transparencywithin the organization.
- StrategicPlanning and Execution: Skilled in developing strategies to improvebusiness growth and operational efficiency.
- Relationship-Buildingand Client Orientation: Proven ability to cultivate strong clientrelationships and proactively engage with the community to drive new business.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to addressing challenges, with a focus on sustainablesolutions.
