Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - CVICU

Unit Information

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) consists of 16 beds and is supported by a dedicated team of 45 registered nurses. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 during both day and night shifts.

Shift Details

• Shift Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Weekend Requirement: 2 weekend shifts biweekly

Patient Care

The CVICU provides specialized care for patients requiring intensive cardiovascular monitoring and support. Typical patient ratios are maintained at 2:1, ensuring focused attention and high-quality care.

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System

The unit utilizes the Meditech EMR system for documentation and patient management.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• A minimum of 2 years of critical care experience (adult ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, or any Critical Care specialty).
• Experience with ventilators and management of arterial lines, central lines, and chest tubes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience specific to CVICU, including CABG recovery, CRRT, and Impella management.
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR.
• BSN and CCRN certification.
