KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks middle school teachers for our fifth through eighth grade classrooms in the 2026-27 school year.
Teachers are assigned one grade level and are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their Principal. OUR CURRENT MODEL There are four "home room" teachers on each grade level who are each responsible for teaching a core subject. (For example, there are four teachers on the 6th grade team; each staff member teaches every student on that grade level for their assigned subject.) Class size is typically about 26 students per class. Subjects on each grade level include English Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, and Science. Please note within the application what grade levels and/or subject area you prefer. Relevant certification should also be indicated in the application. Please note that fifth grade is considered part of our middle school model. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Our current starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000

Qualifications REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification in one of the following areas:
- Elementary Education K-6 for 5th or 6th grade ELA.
- English 5-9 for grades 5,6,7, or 8.
- English 6-12 for grades 6,7, or 8.
- At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom
