POSTING NUMBER: N131-2627 POSTING DATE: August 7, 2026 CLOSING DATE: Until Filled POSITION: School Safety Officer LOCATION: Various REPORTS TO: School Principal AND Security Director PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Ensure public safety involving the control, maintenance, and enforcement of rules and regulations governing the order and security of the Hartford Public Schools. The position requires a close daily working relationship with other personnel. Work is performed under the supervision of the school principal or assigned building administrator. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: ·Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. ·Must pass the state sanctioned standard Physical Fitness Test. ·Must have knowledge of issues related to school security. ·Must have knowledge of the safety and security needs of students, teachers and other school personnel. ·Prior Security experience preferred. CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must possess State Security Certification SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: HFSSPO 2026-2027 schedule 20: $37,355.-.$44,130 schedule 21 $40,996 - $48,430.
