The Division of Hematology at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital (OSUCCC-James) is actively recruiting faculty physicians with a clinical interest in Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy. We are seeking candidates that will deliver excellent ambulatory and inpatient care, while demonstrating a passion for clinical research and/or education. Academic rank, salary and start-up package will be commensurate with experience. Candidates must be board-certified in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology, as well as be able to meet medical licensure requirements in Ohio.
About the Employer
Our Division of 72 physicians, physician-scientists and research faculty has a strong history of career development in laboratory, translational and clinical research. Our faculty are supported through structured mentorship with a focus on personal career advancement. Clinical researchers develop a broad portfolio of investigator initiated and industry supported clinical trials.
The Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program led by Marcos de Lima, MD focuses on the development of novel therapeutics while delivering world class patient care. The program is FACT accredited, performs approximately 400 procedures yearly, and is a BMT-CTN Core Clinical Center. Close to 60% of the allogeneic transplant recipients are enrolled on a clinical trial. In addition, large biorepositories are available and program members receive a significant amount of external, peer reviewed funding. The team collaborates with immunologists from the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology, and is at the forefront of the development of cellular therapeutics.
The OSUCCC-James is one of only 57 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the nation, a designation that we have maintained through competitive renewal since 1976. The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute opened the third largest cancer hospital in in the United States in December 2014 to meet the needs of our community. The James provides a state of the art facility that fosters integration of research and clinical cancer care, including 308 inpatient beds and a 36 bed blood and marrow transplant (BMT) unit.
