Petco Veterinary Services offers relief veterinarians the chance to work in two distinct settings: Vetco Vaccination Clinics and Vetco Total Care full-service veterinary hospitals. In both environments, you'll have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of pets every day. As a relief veterinarian with Petco, you can choose your own shifts with flexible online scheduling, set your own rate for each shift, and work any number of hours that fit your lifestyle. There are no agency fees and you have the freedom to continue practice activities outside of Petco shifts. Vetco Vaccination Clinics The clinics focus exclusively on basic wellness checks, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and microchip placement. They do not offer surgeries, emergency, or illness care, and most locations operate within Petco stores with a few in mobile van units. Vetco Total Care Hospitals The full-service hospitals provide a complete range of services: preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures. They are equipped with digital dental X-rays, Butterfly IQ+ Vet ultrasound imaging, heated hydraulic surgery tables, full anesthesia monitoring, and other advanced equipment. Licensed and trained hospital staff manage overnight or emergency on-call duties, allowing you to focus on patient care. Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions, including blood draws and vaccine administration. DEA registration in good standing required for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts. Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance and license defense policy. Compliance with all local, state and federal mandates. Veterinary relief shifts are available in 48 states.
