Manufacturing Supervisor, NGS TE Production
Twist Bioscience
Twist Bioscience seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee NGS gene synthesis production in a high-throughput, automated lab. The role requires leading shift operators on molecular biology workflows, ensuring quality and compliance, and driving process improvements in a GMP/ISO-regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture custom gene products according to standard operating procedures in high-throughput environment
- Lead shift operators, provide guidance on priorities, troubleshoot technical issues, and coordinate shift handoffs
- Maintain detailed batch records, documentation, and regulatory compliance (ISO 13485, GMP standards)
- Operate and calibrate semi-automated and automated molecular biology equipment
- Identify production problems, recommend process improvements, and submit deviation and CAPA documentation
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry
- Minimum 5 years laboratory experience in manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with automated liquid handlers (Hamilton, Tecan) and molecular biology instrumentation
- Demonstrated experience with GMP, ISO 13485, and LEAN manufacturing practices
- Leadership experience with small laboratory teams and scientific problem-solving
- Knowledge of LIMS/MES systems and sample tracking software
- Ability to work shift hours (Wednesday–Friday, 7:00 pm–7:30 am) with alternate Saturday
