Recreation Assistant

Gold Crest Care Center, located in the Pelham Gardens area of the Bronx is actively seeking a full-time Recreation Assistant for our Skilled Nursing Facility (Nursing and Rehab Center). Successful Candidate must be compassionate, creative, energetic, and enthusiastic with the desire to enhance the quality of life of residents. Qualifications Positive attitude and energy is a must Previous experience as a Recreation Leader is plus Experience with activities in healthcare settings or college work in recreation therapy Ability to use your time productively and efficiently Computer skills is necessary Familiar will technology use Ability to work effectively as a team member Strong organizational & planning skills; ability to multi-task Responsibilities Helps resident maintain their highest level of functioning by presenting appropriate activity programs according to resident's physical capacity, cognitive ability and interest Assist department staff with the implementation of activities and programs for Residents; focusing on individual interests Work directly with Residents on units Motivate resident to participate in activities that match their previous hobbies and interest Assist Recreation Director and set up, implement, and clean up programs as needed Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activities Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units Collaborate with Recreation Director to create/modify the recreation calendar and coordinate with outside parties to implement recreational activities Distribute calendars Be familiar with established emergency policies and procedures Other duties as assigned Bilingual is a plus About Us Gold Crest Care Center is a CMS rated 5 star 175-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility located in the Bronx.
