Job Summary:
A Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment. The role involves providing specialized patient care within the step down care setting, handling a diverse patient population including stroke, cardiac (preferably cardiac drips), post-operative patients (orthopedic, genitourinary, gynecological, general surgical), and general medical conditions. The position requires flexibility to float onsite within the skill set or to sites within 40 miles if necessary.

• Location: Brookfield, WI
• Shift: Night (12-hour shifts)
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Start Date: 07/12/2026
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; at least 2 years of Medical/Surgical (MS) or Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) experience; BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications; experience with EPIC electronic medical record system; travel experience preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Adaptability to care for a wide variety of patients including stroke, cardiac (preferably cardiac drips), post-op (orthopedic, GU, GYN, general surgery), and general medical patients.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
• Additional Information: Candidates should be adaptable and able to care for a broad patient demographic. Float rotation may be required within the skill set or to other sites within 40 miles.
