The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Turnpikes, has a full-time vacancy for a Toll Supervisor IV.

Summary:

To plan and develop work procedures for subordinate employees engaged in manual or electronic toll collection activities in the Bureau of Turnpikes, ensuring compliance with toll collection policies and procedures, State Laws and regulations, as well as Department and Bureau policy.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

Equivalent combination of 6.5 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in business administration or operations, human resources, tolls, or related field and must include 3 years of supervisory experience in any occupational area.


License/Certification:

Valid driver's license and access to transportation for statewide travel

Other Requirements:

1. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the hiring agency.


2. Must be available for 24-hour-a-day operation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration. Knowledge of federal and state accounting and administrative procedures. Ability to plan and coordinate the development of plans, policies and procedures. Ability to interpret and explain pertinent provisions of laws, rules and regulations.

The work of an employee in trainee status in this position shall be overseen by a fully qualified individual. An employee in trainee status shall meet the minimum qualifications within the period of time specified on the SJD, not to exceed one year of being hired into this position.


Responsibilities:

Supervises and evaluates cash toll revenue operations statewide, ensuring the proper collection, security, accountability, and transfer of funds to the banking institution.

Supervises work performance of subordinate employees including identifying and recommending training needs, recommending leave, and conducting performance evaluations.

Plans and develops toll collection procedures, including developing and revising work methods in procedural manuals, memos, and work instructions to ensure consistency and conformance with overall Turnpikes and Departmental objectives and policies.

Implements toll collection procedures, including reviewing reconciliation reports of toll collection employees.

Generates toll collection system statistics, analyzes trends, and compiles reports that are provided to Turnpikes Administrators. Provides consultation as needed to superiors, reviews recommendations for improvements by subordinate employees.

Serves as Assistant Project Manager on the Lane and Open Road Tolling maintenance vendor contracts. Assess toll system functionality and toll collection equipment needs under the vendor contracts.

Coordinates the implementation of occupational health and safety program objectives for the Toll Employees.
