What You Will Be Doing

You will hold ultimate accountability for the physical lifecycle, tracking systems, and safety protocols of our heavy earthmoving equipment and commercial truck fleet:

• Workforce Command & Mentorship: Direct, supervise, and evaluate shop and field mechanics, establishing an efficient workflow hierarchy and ensuring elite craftsmanship across all structural repairs.
• Asset Lifecycle Management: Spearhead the daily scheduling and execution of robust preventive maintenance programs to maximize fleet reliability and eliminate expensive field downtime.
• Advanced Systems Troubleshooting: Isolate and resolve master-level mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control system faults on heavy yellow iron and heavy transport trucks.
• Digital Maintenance Records: Author and manage precise asset documentation, service logs, and historical tracking metrics using modern computer-based fleet management software.
• Supply Chain & Vendor Controls: Oversee parts inventory cycles and manage critical relationships with OEM parts suppliers and specialized external vendors to optimize repair timelines.
• Regulatory OSHA Stewardship: Enforce absolute compliance with Cal/OSHA workplace standards, ensuring all tooling, hazardous material processing, and heavy machine operations occur within a safe shop environment.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

• Technical Industry Tenure: Minimum of 7 years of progressive, hands-on experience executing structural repairs on heavy construction equipment and commercial vehicles.
• Leadership Command: Proven capacity to manage professional shop logistics, direct mechanical crews, and prioritize incoming work orders independently.
• System Fluency: High-level proficiency diagnosing and rebuilding diesel powertrains, high-pressure hydraulic arrays, and complex multiplex electrical systems.
• Computer Literacy: Functional capability using modern fleet maintenance tracking software and basic administrative software packages.
• Licensure & Equipment Mastery: Valid Driver's License coupled with the proven capability to safely maneuver forklifts, heavy-duty service trucks, and commercial machinery.
• Communication Mastery: Strong interpersonal skills required to manage internal team mechanics and coordinate technical field requests seamlessly.

Preferred Assets:

• Prior supervisory or foreman-level experience directly within a civil construction, mass grading, or utility infrastructure environment.
• An active Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A or B).
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish to optimize team communication and training dynamics.
• Referenceable track record of training, evaluation, and moving junior or apprentice technicians into high-yield lead roles.
