AVP-Branch Manager Location: Auburn, MA, US Salary Range: $71,350.00 To $92,750.00 Annually Regular Full‑Time Management Our branch locations include Millbury, So. Grafton, Auburn, and Worcester (Stafford Street and Boylston Street). Work Schedule: Full Time (Mon‑Fri, including some Saturdays and after‑hours events as needed). Summary : Reports to the Vice President Retail Director or assignee. The AVP/Branch Manager has broad responsibility in generating loans and gathering deposits, managing personnel, and ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting the mission statement and branch business plan. Essential Functions and Activities : Member Service Schedule, plan, organize, and oversee the member services function for the branch, including all deposit‑related product delivery and sales. Generate business sales calls and follow‑up with current business relationships. Coach subordinate sales/referrals in retail, consumer, business, mortgage, investments, etc., to meet branch goal objectives as assigned. Ensure opening and closing of the Credit Union following established security guidelines; keep current on computer capabilities and maintain operating functions according to policy. Handle difficult situations involving members and/or staff calmly and professionally, resolving issues within proper guidelines and MCU policy and procedure. Work with Operations to ensure data processing equipment is properly maintained and operates with the most current software versions. Provide a high level of service to new and existing members, including opening new accounts, performing credit counseling, determining credit needs and solutions, resolving problems, performing wire transfers, telephone transfers, ACH transactions, IRA disbursements, etc. Oversee security measures for dual‑control access, safety deposit boxes, and member and employee safety; coach and monitor staff for the same. Conduct month‑end analysis of budget reports, income/expense, balance sheet, sales tracking reports, and other deposit/loan reports. Interpret legal papers (death certificates, power of attorney, trust documents, summons) and process all related transactions according to Credit Union policy and federal/state laws. Generate consumer loans (credit cards, LOC, etc.) within prescribed authority limits and Credit Union policy. Complete the income and expense budget for the upcoming year. Represent the credit union at external events such as expos, Chamber of Commerce meetings, seminars, boards, and business after‑hours events as necessary. Compliance Develop, implement, and monitor branch policies and procedures; remain up to date on all regulatory and legal issues. Monitor compliance reporting for BSA, CIP, Identity Theft Red Flags, and other relevant regulations. Maintain records according to the Board‑approved records retention schedule. Department Administration and Other Activities Supervise staff, train and motivate, appraise performances, and resolve employee relations issues up to and including recommendations for dismissal; establish performance objectives and coach staff to achieve goals. Participate in interviewing, hiring, and orientation of staff. Lead periodic staff meetings to ensure excellent communication with staff and other departments. Develop a team philosophy in providing services to members. Participate in Credit Union management team meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements : Sit, use hands, talk or hear regularly; reach with hands and arms frequently; stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally; lift and/or move up to 10 pounds occasionally; use keyboard, PC, and adding machine. Education, Knowledge, and Experience Bachelor’s degree in management preferred; high school diploma or G.E.D. with comparable personnel and branch management experience required. Minimum of 5 years of branch and personnel management experience. Strong knowledge of banking products, services, and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of security practices and procedures. Exposure to benefits, payroll, employee relations, employment law, performance management, etc. Some knowledge of accounting. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft 365. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing branch profitability. Skills and Abilities Expert customer service skills. Ability to function as a team player and lead the team. High level of problem‑solving skills with a demonstrated attention to detail. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Analytical skills.
