Project Specialist

Title: Project Specialist (Construction / Project Engineering)

Location: Arlington, VA (On-site)

Pay Rate: $25-$30/hr

Duration: 36-month contract

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree OR 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
• Understanding of construction administration and project coordination
• Knowledge of basic financial principles, budgeting, and expense tracking
• Experience managing, tracking, and distributing project documentation (RFIs, submittals, etc.)
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (HSPD-12 background check)
• Ability to work fully on-site in Arlington, VA

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Associate’s degree in a related field
• Experience working in a federal or government construction environment
• Familiarity with procurement processes such as Purchase Requests (PRs) or MIPRs
• Experience with project financial tracking, reporting, or cost controls
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills

Job Description

We are seeking a Project Specialist to support multiple construction-related projects within a federal environment. This role works closely with engineering, construction, and finance teams to ensure projects are executed efficiently, remain on budget, and maintain compliance with required standards.

Key responsibilities include supporting project budgets and financial tracking, participating in project meetings to document progress and risks, and assisting with invoice reviews to ensure work completed aligns with payments requested. The role will also manage and distribute key project documentation such as RFIs and submittals while maintaining accurate records across financial, technical, and personnel areas.

Additionally, this position will assist in developing budget plans, supporting financial audits, tracking execution performance, and preparing procurement-related documentation. The Project Specialist plays a key role in ensuring all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and effectively communicated across cross-functional teams.

This is a hands-on, detail-driven role ideal for someone looking to grow within project management or construction operations in a structured, team-oriented environment.
