About the Position

Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Saturday - Monday Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. A Basic Dysrhythmia test will be given during the first week of the assignment. This test must be passed in order to work on the telemetry/medsurg unit. Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with other health team members. Effectively interacts with the patient and significant others while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. Provides high-quality care to the following patient populations: geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry. While the traveler will not be part of a regular call rotation, they may occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census. If called in, the traveler is expected to respond and arrive on-site within one hour. Telemetry ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. Floating is a requirement in all non-critical care inpatient units including to the emergency department if there are boarded patients. EMR is Cerner. BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification is required.
