Director of Business Operations

We are seeking an exceptional Director of Business Operations to help build and manage the financial, administrative, and operational infrastructure necessary to support a growing national professional services firm.

Key Responsibilities

* Financial Operations: Oversee budgeting, billing, accounts receivable, expense management, cash-flow monitoring, and financial reporting.

* Business Infrastructure: Develop and implement the systems, processes, and internal controls needed to support a national organization.

* Vendor Management: Coordinate with outside accounting, tax, legal, IT, HR, and other professional advisers.

* Human Resources: Oversee payroll coordination, benefits administration, employee onboarding, personnel records, and HR processes.

* Operational Management: Manage contracts, insurance, software subscriptions, vendor relationships, and administrative functions.

* Performance Reporting: Develop dashboards and reporting systems to track financial performance, operating expenses, and key business metrics.

* Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies, anticipate operational challenges, and implement practical solutions.

* Leadership Support: Work directly with senior leadership to establish priorities, solve problems, and execute operational initiatives.

Qualifications

* At least seven years of experience in business operations, finance, administration, or a related field.

* Experience at a consulting firm, law firm, public affairs firm, accounting firm, or other professional services organization strongly preferred.

* Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, financial reporting, business processes, and outside vendors.

* Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow, accounts receivable, and expense management.

* Experience building or improving operational systems and internal processes.

* Proficiency with modern business technology, including financial management, collaboration, and project-management platforms.

* Excellent organizational skills, judgment, discretion, and attention to detail.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
