Mastercam Programmer Lead

Salary: $93,600 - 114,400 per year Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship is required to support defense contracts.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 8 years of CNC mill machining experience in aerospace manufacturing.
• Strong Mastercam programming skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, geometry, and trigonometry to practical situations.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and other technical documents.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow up on multiple tasks or projects.
• Ability to meet production targets for quality and quantity.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with close attention to detail.
• Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods in noisy environments with varying temperatures.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to touch, handle, grip, feel, and grasp.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds when a crane is unavailable.
• Vision abilities needed for the role include near, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Program new jobs using Mastercam.
• Design and build fixtures for new jobs.
• Set up mills for production and operate them as needed to meet production goals.
• Train and coach machinists on best practices, safety protocols, techniques, setups, and part production.
• Keep production schedules on track and maintain an efficient mill-department workflow.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, production control, and other departments to support timely delivery and adjust plans to meet production targets.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure product quality.
• Follow, create, and maintain work instructions, and complete daily paperwork.
• Report production status, performance metrics, and issues to management promptly.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety rules.
• Encourage teamwork, open communication, continuous improvement, and a strong safety culture within the department.
• Perform other duties as needed or assigned by management.
• Serve as the primary technical expert for CNC milling, lead the team, and oversee production of milled parts.
• Assess employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and help address performance concerns.

This Mastercam Programmer Working Lead role is a first-shift position on a four-day, 40-hour schedule: Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with flexibility for overtime on Fridays from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. as needed. Pay is $45–$55 per hour, depending on experience, and the position is eligible for a year-end bonus and includes a paid year-end holiday shutdown.
