Supervising Clinicians are responsible for providing clinical supervision and training for unlicensed, graduate level and/or intern clinicians who provide outpatient mental health counseling and may also maintain a caseload of therapy clients. Supervising Clinicians conduct individual and group supervision and oversee clinical development of therapists in conjunction with the Clinic Directors. Supervising Clinicians are organizational culture carriers who are accountable for promoting clinical excellence and quality outcomes. Clinicians with this title supervise (or maintain availability to supervise) a minimum of 3 supervisees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver a blend of clinician supervision and therapy services in person and/or via telehealth depending on client and supervisee needs.
\n

Essential Supervision Duties and Responsibilities:

\n
• Provide individual and/or group supervision weekly to associate level clinicians. Licensure supervision is to be held according to state regulations, payor contracts and agency supervision policy. Supervision may be provided both live and/or via video conference and may be across multiple sites.
\n
• May provide supervision/consultation to independently licensed clinicians.
\n
• Must be able to provide services in person within a clinic site and/or a hybrid model of in person and work from home days as determined by business needs of clinic and clinical needs of clients. Note: If business needs permit, clinicians providing FFS supervision only and not providing direct client care may be remote.
\n
• Maintain board registration and other regulatory requirements needed to provide licensure supervision where required.
\n
• Review clinical documentation of supervisee, which includes evaluation of treatment plans, session notes and related documents. Approve and sign session notes, treatment plans and other documents where required by payor and/or licensure requirements.
\n
• Complete and maintain record of supervision notes and supervision agreement in dedicated file and record sessions in EHR. Submission of notes to be filed by the end of the day that the supervision was held. • Assess clinicians across core competency areas; provide regular measurement and feedback to clinicians

• Hold supervisees accountable to clinical best practices such as Measurement Based Care
\n
• Identify and monitor areas for performance improvement and report concerns regarding clinical skills, ethics or compliance to Clinic Director
\n
• May provide backup support as needed to Clinic Director in the screening, interviewing, and training of new clinicians and interns
\n
• Complete required trainings and maintain all licensing requirements to maintain independent licensure
\n
• Other duties as assigned
\n

Mental Health Therapist: Essential Duties and Responsibilities (if clinician also provides direct care):

\n
• Provides clinical services to clients (individual/group/family etc.) in person or via telehealth and documents for all sessions within 24 hours (best practice) of delivery care (72 hours maximum).
\n
• Attends all required staff meetings and supervision sessions where applicable.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention services, as needed.
\n
• Complete all documentation related to delivery of therapeutic services in a timely and thorough manner that meets all ethical, legal and contractual requirements, including treatment plans, notes and discharge summaries.
\n
• Consult as needed with patients, and (with consent), their families and other health care professionals to communicate clinical findings and recommendations.
\n
• Consult with other clinical staff members as needed to facilitate implementation of highest quality clinical services.
\n
• Use evidence based best practices and outcomes based measures to evaluate clients and progress.
\n
• Coordinate care with clinic medication prescribers.
\n
• Consistently meet established productivity expectations.
\n
• Manage caseload for no shows/cancellations and discharge clients as needed
\n
• Comply with all policies and procedures of the practice.
\n
• Maintain all privacy and compliance standards.
\n

Qualifications:

\n
• Master’s degree or higher from applicable accredited program
\n
• Valid independent clinical license in the state(s) where services are being provided
\n
• Meet minimum post licensure experience requirements for supervisor as determined by licensing Board
\n
• Meet all Licensing Board requirements to provide clinical supervision (e.g. registration, state required coursework, years of experience, etc.)
\n
• Knowledge of state/federal rules and regulations
\n
• Strong computer abilities and proficiency with electronic medical records
\n
• Strong commitment to professional Code of Ethics
\n
• Understanding of privacy and HIPAA requirements
\n
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team especially in stressful situations (Preferred)
\n
• Training in clinical supervision preferred (required where mandated by licensing boards)(Preferred)
\n
• Knowledge of current standards, principles, and practices of psychiatric care (Preferred)
\n
• 3-5 years of post licensure experience (Preferred)
\n
• Knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, methods, issues, and approaches in mental health (Preferred)

New Directions Mental Health is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base compensation range for this role is $45 – $53 per billable unit. Clinical Supervisors (non-lead)/Supervising Clinicians are eligible for a supervisory differential that enhances their base rate. Actual compensation may vary based on licensure, experience, market-driven enhancements, and incentive opportunities available for this role. These ranges reflect our current standard compensation practices and may be adjusted over time to remain competitive and aligned with organizational needs.
