Structural Fitter Leaderman (Day Shift) – Full-Time

Location: Houma, LA

Summary

Lead a crew of fitters in the fabrication and assembly of vessel and structural components in a shipyard environment. Ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Must-Haves
  • 5+ years of shipyard, marine, or heavy industrial fitting experience
  • 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role
  • Ability to read blueprints, shipyard drawings, and weld symbols
  • Strong structural steel and vessel fit-up experience
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
Preferred
  • Barge, vessel, or offshore fabrication experience
  • NCCER Fitter certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Forklift, manlift, or crane experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Qualifying Questions
  1. How many years of fitting experience do you have in a shipyard or marine environment?
  2. Have you led a crew of fitters? If yes, how many employees?
  3. Can you read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols without assistance?
  4. Describe your vessel, barge, or marine fabrication experience.
  5. Have you worked under ABS, Coast Guard, or customer inspections?
  6. Are you available for full-time day shift work, including overtime when needed?
