Job Description

The Cardiac Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic and interventional procedures as requested by physicians, ensuring high-quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist or Cardiologist. This role involves providing care for patients during procedures while adhering to established department protocols and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac and interventional procedures in accordance with established protocols.
• Prepare and orient patients for procedures.
• Provide patient care while in the Cath Lab and ensure radiation protection.
• Operate imaging and department equipment, maintaining compliance with safety standards.
• Document procedures accurately, maintaining up-to-date records in compliance with hospital policies.
• Maintain an orderly and clean work area, ensuring an adequate supply of essentials.
• Exhibit effective communication skills to foster positive patient and team interactions.
• Participate in continuing education activities to stay informed on advancements in technology.
• Provide on-call coverage for after-hours operations as needed.
• Perform various Point of Care testing procedures as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification required; New Mexico State licensure required.
• BLS certification from AHA required.
• ACLS certification from AHA required.
• One year of radiologic experience preferred.
