Shipping and Receiving Associate

The Shipping and Receiving Associate handles all incoming and outgoing shipments, maintains accurate inventory records, and ensures materials are processed efficiently to support both warehouse and production operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective coordination with team members, and consistent adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against packing slips and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Record and track all incoming and outgoing shipments in inventory systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring correct items, quantities, and proper labeling for each order.
• Load and unload trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, or manual handling as needed, following safe material handling practices.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts through regular checks and cycle counts, and promptly report discrepancies or shortages.
• Stage materials and organize warehouse space to support efficient workflow and easy access to inventory.
• Prepare all required shipping documentation, including bills of lading, labels, manifests, and related paperwork.
• Store materials in designated locations following FIFO (First In, First Out) and established inventory procedures.
• Ensure all shipments meet company quality and safety standards before they leave the facility.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the warehouse and shipping areas.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations and policies during daily operations.
• Collaborate with team members, production staff, and other departments to support on-time shipments and material availability.
• Identify and communicate process or inventory issues and assist in problem-solving to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willing to learn

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics environment preferred but not required

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
