Associate Field Applications Engineer

The applications in which our products are used are typically in the higher-performance, higher-power segments of the market segments we serve. Our products are sold worldwide to customers ranging from small to large global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), their contract manufacturers (CM’s) and internationally to distributors who support their supply chains. Our Advanced Products serve customers concentrated in the High Performance Computing, Aerospace and Defense, Industrial and Automotive markets. Applications range from powering advanced processors in server motherboards and artificial intelligence accelerator cards and systems, server rack power conversion, radar systems, industrial automation, instrumentation, test equipment, solid state lighting, telecommunications and networking infrastructure, and mild hybrid and pure electric vehicle (EV) automobiles. Our Brick Products serve customers in aerospace and defense electronics, industrial automation, industrial equipment, instrumentation and test equipment, and transportation (notably in rail and heavy equipment applications). Job Description The main responsibility of the Associate (Strategic) FAE position is to proactively support Vicor power solutions into various market opportunities with a primary focus in Data Center and AI applications. This involves providing additional technical support to strategic FAEs that are involved in pre- and post- Sales customer engagements.Job responsibilities: Lab work o Experienced in operating test equipment necessary in evaluating and debugging power supply products (ie. PSUs, DMM, Oscilloscopes, Frequency Generators, Network Analyzers,…) o Experienced in soldering through hole and SMD components o Experienced in data collection, analysis, and report writing Design review (schematic/layout) o Experienced in using schematic capture tools (ie. Allegro, Altim,..) Simulation o Experienced in using simulation software (ie. Spice, LTspice, Simplis, Sigrity,…)Education / Qualifications The candidate must have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Minimum of upto 5 years related experience in either analog/power supply design or analog based applications engineering Base Level Electronics Technician skills Excellent understanding of analog design Excellent written/verbal communication skills. Experience in designing and or testing VR solutions for CPUs, GPUs, and or ASICs is highly desirable.
