Job Title: CPD&D Laboratory Technician

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Duration: Contract - 12 months

 

Job Description

We are seeking a  Biostimulant Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic and multi-disciplinary Plant Performance team in Indianapolis. The ideal candidate will have experience in  greenhouse trials, laboratory bioassays, and scientific data collection, and a proven ability to  follow laboratory protocols, maintain compliance, and support high-quality experimental outcomes . This is an entry-level role suited for new graduates or candidates with up to five years of experience.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct greenhouse trials and laboratory assays, including set-up, implementation, and assessment.
• Prepare experimental materials such as soils and chemical solutions.
• Treat plants using equipment including track sprayers, with the ability to wear respirators and PAPR as required.
• Follow established laboratory protocols and safety procedures.
• Schedule the use and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Maintain compliance for handling and disposal of plant and microbial materials.
• Collect, manage, and assure the quality of experimental data.
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory and greenhouse environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• B.A., B.S., or associate degree in Plant Biology, Soil Science, Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
• Experience conducting laboratory bioassays in an R&D setting.
• Experience conducting greenhouse trials assessing plant growth and development.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to work in a team or independently.
• Experience with scientific record keeping and common software applications.
• Ability to occasionally lift and move 25–50 lbs.

Preferred Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in a laboratory and/or greenhouse environment.
• Experience with agricultural biologicals in laboratory and greenhouse experiments.
• Experience using track spraying equipment for foliar treatments.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and data collection tools.
