Job Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Schedule

Various shifts available: 7 am-7 pm, 11 am-11 pm, or 3 pm-3 am; 12-hour shifts with a 48-hour contract preferred. Must work 2 weekends during the schedule period.

Assignment Details

Contract length: 13 weeks; Guaranteed hours: 48 hours per week.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1.5 years of recent Level I or II Emergency Department experience, or 2+ years of recent Level 3/4 Emergency Department experience.
• Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips and identify heart blocks, passing a telemetry test on day one (85% or higher).
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS (must be active and unexpired).
• Experience with EPIC and critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a busy Emergency Department.
• Assess patients, administer medications, and perform interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and health management.

Compliance / Notes

Patients are cared for in various areas, including pediatric ED, and flexibility in floating to different units may be required. Details regarding orientation and other compliance measures will be provided upon acceptance.
