If this sounds like a culture you would like to work in, you’re invited to apply for this role.Job DescriptionThe Senior Purchasing Manager is a key member responsible for executing procurement activities for materials and equipment in support of complex projects from pre-award through closeout.Execute purchasing activities and strategy development for critical engineered equipment and major bulk materials in accordance with project requirements and material management plansReview the project scope of work and prime contract and develop modifications to standard templates and terms and conditions for reviewPrepare bid packages, manage bidder communications and clarification meetings and administer quotation timelinesConduct commercial bid evaluations evaluating pricing, terms, delivery, compliance and risk against project baseline documentsIssue purchase orders and manage them through the full lifecycle, including change orders, price adjustments and supplier exceptionsEffectively negotiate and recommend resolution to terms and conditions exceptionsNegotiate and resolve any claims related items regarding materialAnalyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelinesValidate supplier invoices and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerProvide guidance and support to intermediate and junior buyers on the project teamCollaborate closely with Engineering, Construction, Logistics, and other project stakeholdersLead weekly purchasing meetings to align expectations and schedulesPlan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staffOrganize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlinesAdhere to and support Fluor’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability PoliciesMay need to travel to attend to business related mattersMeet expectations on attendance and punctualityOther duties as assignedBasic Job RequirementsAccredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and ten (10) years* of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to fourteen (14) years* if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirementsAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholdersJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the jobAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelinesAbility to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerPreferred QualificationsApplicable professional certification(s) or license(s)Experience should be primarily in the area of material managementExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent leadership and decision-making skillsTo be Considered Candidates: Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.We are an equal opportunity employer.
