Cost Estimator - Loves Park, Illinois

Our customer in Loves Park, Illinois, is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Estimator to join their team on 1st shift. This role works closely with office and manufacturing teams to support accurate quoting, production planning, and customer project success. The ideal candidate will have experience in precision manufacturing environments and the ability to analyze technical drawings, tooling requirements, and production processes.

 

Responsibilities of the  Cost Estimator :

• Prepare cost estimates for precision tooling projects based on customer specifications, drawings, quotes, and order requirements.
• Follow up with customers regarding submitted quotes.
• Review customer orders and related documentation to determine materials, labor, machining time, and production requirements.
• Collaborate with teams to clarify project requirements and ensure accurate quoting.
• Evaluate tooling requirements for customers in the fastener, aerospace, and automotive industries.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, programming details, revisions, and supporting documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy, programming efficiency, and workflow consistency.

 

Cost Estimator   Requirements and Qualifications:

• Experience in cost estimating, CNC programming, manufacturing engineering, or a related role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, customer specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Knowledge of precision tooling, machining processes, materials, and production requirements.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to prepare accurate estimates and documentation.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate.
• Experience supporting fastener, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing environments preferred.
• Familiarity with CNC programming, Mastercam software, and offline programming tools.
• Understanding of tooling design, machining operations, and production routing.
• Ability to balance technical accuracy with timely turnaround.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

 

Pay for  Cost Estimator : $26.00–$30.00/hour.
