General Description:Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.Essential Responsibilities:Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the positions. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from this position.-Chemotherapy and Administration and Consultation: Administers PO, SC injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered by physician: consults with other medical personnel and may provide expert information about chemotherapy, side effects, etc.

provides a variety of assistance to physicians.-Assumes responsibility for clinic specific assignments.-Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients.-Assists physician during conscious sedation patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. -Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary.-Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.-Delivers patient care competently.-Interacts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the clinic, time of discharge, and continued care via phone triage.-Informs patient and family of clinic procedures.-Patient Education: Provides chemotherapy related educational information to patients, family, etc.

answers inquiries and provides guidance as appropriate.-Makes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.-Delegates tasks to support staff.-Patient Follow Up: Schedules patient follow-up activities related to their treatment and assists with coordination of care by obtaining referrals and completing phone calls with the patients after their clinic visits.
