CDL B Driver (Local) (Open) Location: Albertville, AL - Retail shop As a key representative of Airgas, the delivery driver contributes to the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company provided CDL B vehicle . This position involves loading, unloading, and returning compressed gas cylinders and Dewars while frequently connecting with Airgas customers. Responsibilities Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders, Dewars & supplies Nurture courteous & professional relationships with customers Support deliveries in a timely manner Safely secure and unsecure cylinders Complete deliveries on customer property sites using a hand cart; we emphasize the physically active and hands-on nature of this position. Drivers will frequently move in and out of their vehicle A day in the life of Airgas driver Required Qualifications Valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT (or able to obtain it within 60 days from hire date) & Airbrake endorsements Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsements No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years Must be able to work in a drug-free environment Be able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.
