Job Description
Job Title: MRI Technologist
Profession: Clinical Technicians
Specialty: Pediatric Radiology
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours per Shift: 12 (7a-7p)
Experience: Pediatric experience is a must; preference for Philips MRI experience
License: Applicant must meet eligibility requirements for MRI Certification. Must be achieved within 12 months of hire date.
Certifications: AHA BLS
Must-Have:
- Ability to apply principles of radiologic technology and medical imaging.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions reliably.
- Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and work with names, numbers, and codes.
- Ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
- Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to understand various operations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to communicate with staff, patients, and families in a professional manner.
- High level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards assignments.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and attention to detail.
- Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology.
Description:
Under supervision and direction, this entry-level position works to achieve the competencies required to deliver specialized radiologic technology services to pediatric patient populations.
The role aids medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of conditions, defects, and diseases.
Provides safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centric care in various settings including inpatient facilities and outpatient centers.
Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians.
Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team to implement actions necessary to achieve clinical outcomes.
Utilizes various specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed and that technical quality is consistent with established protocols.
Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems, enters technical data, and prepares studies for reporting by physicians.
Performs quality control checks and user maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines.
Participates in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain competencies and promote improvements in care and treatments.
