Compliance Specialist - North Forest Secondary - YES Prep Public Schools (Immediate)

Designated Position Special Populations Campus Compliance Specialist Reporting Structure Reports to: Special Education Manager Position Details Position Type: 11‑month Start Date: 26‑27 School Year Compensation: $57,268 – $71,207 per year Role Summary The Special Populations Campus Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring students with special populations receive the essential services and support they deserve. The position involves managing a caseload of students and ensuring compliance with all regulations governing IEPs, 504 plans, and Emergent Bilingual procedures. Strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to student success are essential for safeguarding student rights and fostering a culture of equity. Key Responsibilities Scheduling, preparing, and leading Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, 504 meetings, and LPAC meetings for students in Special Populations. Completing Special Populations paperwork, including Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Plans, and LPAC documentation. Supporting teammates in completing portions of student IEPs and monitoring completion of required feedback forms. Ensuring federal and state timelines for ARD, 504, and LPAC meetings are met. Assisting with Home Language Survey collection and review, Parent Consent Forms, and proper Emergent Bilingual program placement. Compiling lists, forms, reports, and data submissions required by the Special Education, Section 504, and Emergent Bilingual programs. Completing applicable PEIMS submission data entry and revisions. Following procedures for progress reporting, folder documentation, parent communication, and related activities. Collaborating with school teams, Home Office teams, parents/guardians, and external agencies to gather and maintain thorough documentation for students in Special Populations. Proactively identifying and addressing potential compliance risks. Attending relevant professional development sessions. Performing additional duties as assigned. Qualifications – Must Haves Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year educational institution. At least two years of relevant work experience as a Special Education Teacher, interventionist, Bilingual or ESL teacher, or other relevant Special Populations campus or district role. Highly organized with developed tracking systems and strong attention to detail. Belief in and commitment to the mission and core values of YES Prep Public Schools. Qualifications – Nice to Haves Valid Texas Teacher certification, including Special Education or ESL or Bilingual certification. Experience with SameGoal, Ellevation, and Skyward. Understanding of Special Education, Emergent Bilingual, and 504 procedures. Experience with Emergent Bilingual programming and LPAC meetings. Master’s Degree. Experience using data management systems for compliance. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Experience chairing or facilitating ARD meetings. Employees must work 20+ hours per week to be eligible for full benefits, and 10+ hours for medical benefits.
