Roadway Construction Inspector

Roadway Construction Inspector Dewberry is currently seeking a Roadway Construction Inspector to join our Transportation Group in Rancho Cordova, CA. Responsibilities Working knowledge of federally funded roadway construction in California, with a specific focus on inspection of asphalt paving/hot mix asphalt (HMA) overlays and traffic control. Proactive in identifying field issues and developing solutions to keep the work moving. Prepare and process construction records, including RFI’s, submittals, progress pay applications, extra work billings, and contract change orders. Document all field activities, work collaboratively with the owner and contractor, and represent Dewberry and our clients in the highest capacity. Familiarity with common computer programs such as MS Word and Excel for completing daily diaries, quantity calculations and other required tasks. Required Skills & Experience 6+ years of experience. High school graduate or GED equivalent required. Associate’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred, but not required. Strong written and oral communication skills. Relevant project experience on transportation, utility, and Caltrans Local Assistance projects with proven results. Knowledge of Caltrans 2018 specifications, policies and procedures, HMA material testing methods, and roadway construction means and methods. Experience with night work, lane closures and COZEEP coordination a plus. Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.
