Materials Coordinator

Materials CoordinatorFlex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.Report to the Materials Manager, Materials Coordinator, is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of materials among departments to ensure production schedules and deadlines are met.What a typical day looks like:Pre-production planning and support: Review all materials to establish the project material status for Project readiness signoff on proposed production datesFollow up with vendors and buyers regarding lead times for materials and obtain tracking information; coordinate delivery dates, as needed.Follow up on any items showing short by working with Purchasing and engineering to get a resolution in placeUpdate the status of the materials and ETAs in the ERP system to provide visibility to downstream processesAttend weekly production meetings and provide accurate information regarding material lead times and any issues that could potentially affect productionActive Project production Support: Tracks material shortages and maintain a complete material shortage report along with resolution status on those itemsInterfaces and coordinates with various departments to resolve material and capacity constraintsAttend daily production walk-through meetings to identify any material issues that could potentially affect productionNotify appropriate internal teams (project managers, production managers, etc.) of any issues and material shortages that could potentially affect productionManage the log for material borrows between projects and get appropriate visibilityPostproduction Support: Document and verify all ship lose material and items are accounted for prior to shipment of manufacturing projectsReview all leftover items and establish a disposition plan for those itemsReview all open transactions and evaluate actions towards closing out all project transactionsRoot cause reasons for material shortagesResearch discrepancies associated with invoicesPerform other related duties as assignedThe experience we're looking to add to our team:High School Diploma or equivalent4+ years' experience in planning, production, inventory, or expeditingStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsProficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and an MRP/ERP SystemWhat the physical requirements are:Periods of standing, walking, and sitting at a desk using a computerMust be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.Must wear PPE, such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear protection, while working on the production floorWhat you'll receive for the great work you provide:Full range of medical, dental, and vision plansLife InsuranceShort-term and Long-term DisabilityMatching 401(k) ContributionsVacation and Paid Sick TimeTuition ReimbursementApplication Deadline:Applications for this job position will be accepted for at least five days following the job posting start date below and continuing until the end date below or until the position is filled.
