Dulce, New Mexico Dulce is located in northern New Mexico within a few miles from the Colorado border and well within view of the Rocky Mountains. The Jicarilla Apache Reservation spans over 870,566 acres of scenic terrain in north central New Mexico. The geography on the reservation ranges from high desert at about 6400 feet in elevation to mountainous areas reaching over 10,600 feet. The town of Dulce is the center of the community and the home of most of the population. The dramatic scenic beauty of the land is unsurpassed, and visitors can enjoy hiking, camping, and trail riding throughout the reservation. Mountain lakes located on the reservation are stocked with several species of trout, and hunting permits are available on a limited basis for mule deer, elk, black bear, mountain lion, and wild turkey. Winter snows provide excellent cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing. Several alpine skiing resorts are located within a few hours of Dulce.

About the Facility Jicarilla Service Unit The Jicarilla Service Unit, also known as the Jicarilla Apache Health Care Facility, is located in Dulce, New Mexico. The Jicarilla Service Unit serves primarily the members of the Jicarilla Apache Nation with a service population of over 4,000 patients but also serves as other tribes as well. Nzhonachi'idle'ee translated in the Jicarilla Apache language as "a place to get well" is the tribal name of the clinic. The clinic is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAHC). The Clinic is a Patient-Centered Medical Home and a Certified Dental Home, JSU has dedicated staff working together with local community programs at all levels to focus on health promotion and disease prevention activities. Responsibilities

• Shall cover the range of routine and STAT testing on blood, urine, and other body fluids.
• Collecting, transporting, processing, and evaluating specimens for all lab sections.
• Shall perform clinical chemistry and toxicology on automated and semi-automated instruments.
• Storing and preparing reagents, standards, and calibrators. Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning, and effecting repairs of laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Documenting those functions and informs supervisory staff of any problems encountered.
• Preparing, testing, recording, and interpreting quality control materials. Taking corrective action for out-of-control results, and immediately notifying supervisory staff of any problems encountered.
• Testing, verifying, and reporting patient test results in accordance with established protocols. Recognizing and responding to indications of malfunctions in testing and reporting. Immediately evaluating current test results to available prior test results for acceptability. Reporting critical results in accordance with established protocols.

Requirements

• Must have twenty-four (24) months as a Medical Technologist with generalist experience.
• Must have a B.S. Degree in Medical Technology or one of the Biological Science (Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, etc.) from an accredited college or university.
• Must be certified in Medical Technology by the appropriate agency.
• Must have certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) -OR- American Medical Technologist (AMT).
• Must have certification in Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Must also provide current and up-to-date immunization records including COVID vaccinations.
• Language Requirements and Cultural Awareness: Shall read, understand, speak, and write English to effectively communicate with patients and other health care workers, and shall be respectful of the local, American Indian and Alaska Native culture.
• Must possess basic knowledge, skills, and abilities to use a computer.
