Purchasing ManagerBISCO is seeking an ambitious Purchasing Manager to join our thriving organization. We are an internationally recognized manufacturer of medical devices for the dental industry, specializing in the advancement and research of adhesive and composite technology. This position is responsible for providing leadership and accountability for BISCO's purchasing function to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and compliant supply of materials, components, and services that support manufacturing, new product development, and business operations.The Purchasing Manager will play an important part in helping us grow. This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing Operations. This position will be required to work out of the Schaumburg, IL office. Salary range: $110K to $129K, commensurate with experience. Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, HRA and FSA, short and long-term disability, life insurance, pet insurance, PTO, 401(k) profit-sharing with match, potential year-end bonuses.Duties and Responsibilities for the Purchasing Manager:Lead, manage, and hold people accountableProvide direction and oversight to direct and indirect reportsPlan and coordinate training for direct and indirect reportsConduct performance management activities with direct reportsEnsure adequate staffing, manage employee relations, and maintain a positive working environmentStrategic procurementOwn BISCO's strategic sourcing program, including supplier selection, negotiations, risk mitigation, and long-term supply continuityLead supplier negotiationsIdentify cost-saving opportunitiesMonitor commodity and market trendsServe as functional owner of BISCO's purchasing processes, supplier relationships, purchasing policies, and procurement systems.Procurement managementManage procurement of raw materials, packaging components, equipment, and indirect suppliesEnsure purchase orders are placed accurately and on timeMonitor supplier lead times and proactively mitigate supply risksResolve purchasing issues, shortages, pricing discrepancies, and delivery delaysReview and approve purchase orders within authorized limitsSupplier managementDevelop and maintain strategic supplier relationshipsOwn supplier qualification, approval, performance monitoring, and strategic development in partnership with the Quality Assurance departmentIdentify and qualify secondary suppliersEnsure suppliers remain compliant with BISCO's supplier quality requirementsSupport FDA, ISO 13485, and MDR supplier documentation requirementsMaintain purchasing recordsERP system managementSupport new item approval and vendor approval processesWork closely with R&D, QA, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing during new product launchesCollaborate with production scheduling to maintain appropriate inventory levelsSupport inventory target setting and safety stock reviewsOwn purchasing execution from MRP through supplier delivery to ensure uninterrupted productionRequirements for the Purchasing Manager:Seven years of purchasing/procurement experienceOne year of supervisory, project leadership, or mentoring experience preferredERP systems knowledge (NetSuite preferred)Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device preferred)Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related fieldMS Office SuiteStrong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsSupplier performance managementData analysis and reportingKnowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 13485)Understanding of FDA Quality System Regulation (21 CFR Part 820), MDR, and supplier quality requirementsRisk management and supply continuity planningExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to lead cross-functional teams and influence organizational decisionsLight office functions along with ability to access all areas of the facilityWHY BISCO, INC.?
