Job Description

This Hardscape Team Leader role focuses on overseeing and executing premium outdoor living projects, including patios, retaining walls, and custom stone features. The primary objective is to deliver high-quality craftsmanship while ensuring on-site safety, team productivity, and exceptional project execution.

Based in Sterling Heights, MI, this premier landscaping and outdoor design firm is renowned for its award-winning custom masonry and residential hardscaping projects. Responsibilities

Direct and lead a dedicated crew in the installation of pavers, natural stone, retaining walls, and outdoor fire features.
Interpret and execute architectural blueprints, landscape designs, and grading plans accurately.
Operate heavy machinery and equipment, including skid steers, mini-excavators, and saws, prioritizing site safety.
Monitor and record daily material usage, labor hours, and project milestones to ensure profitable, on-time completion.
Mentor and train junior technicians on advanced masonry techniques, equipment handling, and safety protocols.
Maintain clear, professional communication with project managers and property owners regarding site progress.

Requirements

3+ years of hands-on professional experience in hardscape installation and residential construction.
Proven track record in a supervisory or crew lead capacity, successfully managing small teams.
Strong proficiency in transit leveling, shooting grades, and calculating material yields.
Expertise in safely operating trucks, trailers, and standard earth-moving equipment.
Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record (CDL or DOT medical card is a plus).
Exceptional physical stamina with the ability to perform rigorous work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
